The experience of elaborating medium-term development strategy of a subject of the Russian Federation is analyzed by the example of the Republic of Buryatia. An approach is offered to the procedure of strategic planning of regional economic systems based on the scenario approach. The trends of the socio-economic dynamics have been studied, the long-term development concept of the republic is substantiated, the system and sectoral priorities for the region's sustainable development are formulated.
The work is intended for researchers, government officials, teachers, post-graduate students and students.
