ERI FEB RAS

The Economic Research Institute, Far-Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with the support of the Research Council on regional development under the Presidium RAS, issues an academic journal "Spatial Economics". Spatial economics to date has shaped as one of fundamental areas of economic science being at the junction of regional economics (as economics of regions), economic geography, economic theory, mathematical economics, institutional economics, sociology, and demography. Interdisciplinary nature of the journal makes it possible to comprehensively cover scientific achievements in the field of spatial economics in Russia and abroad.

Publication of research results in the journal "Spatial Economics" covers the following scientific fields:

• Theory, methodology and methods of regional studies. Territorial structure of the economy of Russia and other countries, structural dynamics. Economics of regions, interregional interactions. Regional economic policy.
• Socio-economic, economic-geographic and geopolitical problems of economic space development (land and water areas). Migration of the population, dynamics of population localities - economic centers. Natural resources use, changes in their availability. Infrastructure building. Transformation of economic space as a result of development, reallocation of economic potentials.
• Spatial problems of economic sectors, their comparative analysis, studying product flows among the regions.
• Spatial system of financial and information flows, its dynamics, degree of maturity and solidity.
• Spatial integration economic problems. Problems and development prospects of the global economy under conditions of globalization as a result of interaction between regional economies.
• Spatial distribution of the effects of international cooperation.

The journal "Spatial Economics" is assigned ISSN 1815-9834.

"Spatial Economics" has been registered by the Russian Federal Surveillance Service for Compliance with the Law in Mass Communications and Cultural Heritage Protection on October 10, 2005 (certificate PI No.FS77-23107).

From the second half of 2006, "Spatial Economics" has been included in the subscription catalog "Newspapers. Magazines" of the JSC Agency "Russian Press" (subscription index 19424). The journal is published 4 times a year.

"Spatial Economics" has been included by the State Commission for academic degrees and titles (under RF Ministry of Education) in the list of the top reviewed academic journals and publications recommended for publishing main scientific findings of dissertations for the degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences.
