The book presents a study of the regularities of socio-economic development of the Russian Federal subjects - the Russian Far East and Trans-Baikal region - as compared to the Russian Federation as a whole in 1990-2001. A comparative evaluation is given of the social and economic potentials of the Russian Far-Eastern and Trans-Baikal regions. A monitoring is presented of the socio-economic situation and its dynamics in the framework of Interregional Association of economic interaction of the Federal subjects the Far East and Trans-Baikal region as a set of arranged data which makes it possible to assess the current economic situation in the region, economic potential and the extent of its realization, as well as to make interregional comparisons.
The book is intended for science and practical workers dealing with regional socio-economic and statistical analysis, students and post-graduates, general public interested in reliable socio-economic information on the development of territories of the Russian Far East and Trans-Baikal region.
