The book examines development trends of the Russian Far East and Trans-Baikal territories in view of implementation of the Federal Target Program "Economic and Social Development of the Russian Far East and Trans-Baikal Area for 1996-2005 and up to 2010".

A comparative assessment is given to the parameters and structure of development of territorial-sectoral complexes in the region. Monitoring is presented of the dynamics in general economic and problem situations, as well as assessment of system effects of the Program activities and resources.
