The monograph analyzes characteristics of the Russian Far East’s economic dynamics. Classification of the long waves of economic dynamics is given, which have been identified through reconstruction of the long-term series (the 1880s – 2000s). Within the limits of long waves there have been distinguished and substantiated five motivation periods with different institutional and resource conditions of the Russian Far East’s performance. The changeover of the development concepts is shown. Government programs of the Far East’s development (programs of 1987, 1996, 2002) are examined. The responses of national and regional economies to the manifestations of crisis processes in 2008–2009 are analyzed.
